IT'S BLENDED.
The SPCP Alternative Education Program is a curricular approach that blends online and on-campus learning. Quality instruction is delivered online and is intensified in the traditional classroom or school setting.
The Program is open to all incoming Grade V, VI, VII, First, Second, Third and Fourth Year high school female students.
IT'S NOT A HOME STUDY PROGRAM.
Blended Education promotes highly individualized, student-centered and differentiated learning. Unlike the traditional Home Study Program, moreover, it is highly supervised by teachers. As learning experiences take place online and on-campus, students, in essence, master independently the academic and non-academic skills and values that underpin the learning base, with significant support and supervision of parents and teachers.
The ONLINE Component
Using Course Management System software, learning activities and discussions are delivered online. Guided lecture notes, assignments, and asynchronous discussion boards (message forum) are available on the course/subject site. Also used are live chats, podcasts and instant messaging. This feature promotes independent and highly individualized learning whether the student is at home or elsewhere, with the supervision of parents and teachers.
The ON-CAMPUS Component
All learning activities that require face-to-face interaction or application such as laboratory work, practical quizzes and tests, periodic examinations, and the like are conducted in school on scheduled days. Moreover, students join the rest of the students for their Homeroom, G.I.F.T. (talent development course), educational trips, retreats, outreach programs and other spiritual and socio-civic activities.
It's A MEANS TO REDUCE CHILD CARE COST.
The Program is certainly a practical and convenient way to acquire education. Since on-campus meetings are very limited, parents save much on transportation expenses and avoid the daily hassle and stress in bringing and fetching children from school.
IT'S HOLISTIC EDUCATION. IT'S QUALITY PAULINIAN LEARNING.
The Program was designed such that it addresses the holistic development of learners, the primary goal of Paulinian education.
In essence, it is the same as the existing regular curricular programs and services of St. Paul College, Pasig, a Catholic educational institution for girls which was granted with the HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACCREDITATION STATUS in Basic Education by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) and the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP).
